About the New Hampshire Health Care Workforce Coalition
The New Hampshire Health Care Workforce Coalition came together in 2018 to address systemic health care workforce shortages that led to delays in accessing care. Today, our coalition includes more than 80 health care provider, advocacy, and business organizations, among others, who meet regularly to discuss key challenges that impact access to health care across the Granite State. Our focus on developing policy solutions to systemwide issues, rather than the issues of a few, has resulted in historic investments across New Hampshire's health care system. We believe that every Granite Stater’s life is improved through better access to quality primary and preventive care, and we will continue our work in a bipartisan fashion to meet the health needs of the populations we serve.

Our Story

In 2023, the Coalition worked to pass a bill that provides funding to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates. These increased rates help health care providers recruit and retain more workers and treat more patients in need. While this success is an important step in the right direction, there is still more work to do to grow our health care workforce, especially in rural and underserved communities.
In 2024, the Coalition worked on legislation and programs that would attract and retain health care workers in New Hampshire. This included increasing access to care for Granite Staters in the North Country, providing greater career stability for Community Health Workers, investing in the health care pipeline, expanding the State Loan Repayment Program to more health care workers, and more.
